The Round Robin Tournament resources have been super useful in setting up 1v1 round robin tournaments for soccer training purposes. I would like to set up a set of 2v2 round robins with pairings that change and the Whist type tables have been very useful in visualizing how this would play out. However, I will often have numbers above and below 12. I would like to organize a series of tables for my team that allow for the following scenarios depending on player availability:
- 8 players (standard, 2 2v2 games)
- 9 players: (2 2v2 games with a different player rotating out in each round (to play goalkeeper)
- 10 players (2 2v2 games with 2 different players rotating out to play goalkeeper)
- 11 players (2 2v2 games with 3 different players rotating out to play 1v1 and goalkeeper)
- 12 players (standard, 3 2v2 games)
- 13 players (3 2v2 games with a different player rotating out in each round).
It's useful to to have the odd numbers, but I need an elegant way to designate player identifiers to rotate out in a consistent and fair way. For more context, we track results in goals scored and goals assisted on an individual level as they change partners in the tournament, which plays out over a week so we can train different skills and tactical concepts.
Thank you for your generous donation of time and resources--it will go to good use--training the next generation of brave and creative girls to play the beautiful game.

The whist scheudes exist for 8,9,12 & 13 players - see the examples on the Wiseman website here (http://www.jdawiseman.com/papers/tournaments/individual-pairs/individual-pairs.html). There really are no good solutions for 10 and 11 players - see the links to the mixed (11) and asymmetric (10) schedules on the same page, but as they involve 1 against 2 and 1 against 1 respectively they probably are not an option for soccer.
