Richard, great site, hopefully you can solve this problem.
I have a pool tournament, 4 pool tables, 9 teams, I'd like each team to play each other once, with the two top teams playing each other one more time at the end. Could you show me how to use the four tables and keep them all full to finish in the shortest time? Thank you.

This schedule is good for two reasons. Firstly each team plays exactly twice on each table -- useful if there are any subtle differences in the way the tables play. You may also be able to avoid the final play-off if you can seed the teams. Assign A as the best team, B as the second best team and so on, similar ability teams are then scheduled to play each other in the last round.
