Title: Golf tournament with player rotation
Post by: tucsonjhall on August 25, 2009, 09:38:25 PM
Hi. I'm trying to do a golf tournament with x number of players who, through the season, rotate so that they have unique foursomes each week. I would appreciate it if you could point me to an appropriate thread or tell me an appropriate phrase to Google. Is this a Whist tournament?

Thanks much

BTW, thanks for such an amazing resource. That's not meant to be patronizing; I'm just surprised there's such a perfect depot for such questions.

You may or may not need a whist-like schedule, it depends on the format of play.  Please review this thread and the off-site link to Ed Pegg's page that you will find there.  Also have a look at this second site on Social Golf (http://www.cs.st-andrews.ac.uk/~wh/golf/), it has some useful schedules, and also other schedules with fivesomes, sixsomes etc that are more of academic interest.
