I don't know how I have only just now found your site.
I've been running a pool league for 5 years now and every year the same problem crops up of how to create a round robin schedule with the best possible scenario for teams to be home and away equally with as few weeks at home or away consecutively as possible. I always end up spending hours on it and it's the only thing I haven't been able to figure out how to automate in Excel myself for the league otherwise. Odd number of teams was somewhat easy and I thought there just had to be a way to do it for an even number of teams too but I was never able to pull it off.
Seeing your work, I finally have a visual on the absolute best possible way it can be with an even number of teams. I downloaded your Balanced Round Robin workbook and could not believe my eyes! It's a thing of beauty and I wanted to extend a very hearty THANK YOU to you. Excellent work!!
