What a wonderful forum! But I have a strange situation. I'm scheduling a video game tournament in which teams of the same faction cannot play against each other. I anticipate that I will have perhaps twice as many Horde teams as Alliance, but horde cannot play against horde, nor can alliance play against alliance.

I wanted to use some sort of Swiss-style system to keep everyone in the running as long as possible, but with either Swiss or Round Robin, I still can't make sense of the numbers.

A likely scenario would be 8 Horde teams and 4 Alliance (though it could be even more skewed). Would it work to have a certain number of games that are "zero point" games for Alliance regardless of wins and losses, with only the Horde side playing for a point in those games? Or is there already a solution in place and I just haven't found it?

Any advice is appreciated - I am not particularly adept at this kind of math.
