Can I assume that when 4 couples meet at a venue that they all play each other? This would mean that any one couple gets 24 games over the 8 meetings. With only 7 possible opponents then some teams will inevitably play together four times. If this is what you want, then the schedule below should work, where the couple who host are the first in each group of four.
