I'm trying to set up a 16 and a 17 person round robin rotating partner bracket, in which there is either 1 bye every round (if 17) or no byes every round. There would be 17 rounds, where you have a different partner every round and play everybody the same amount of times or close too. Thank you for taking the time to help.

I have a 16, but I really need a 17 person, with a bye every round built in. We will have 4 matches going on at once, so that means 1 person would sit out per round. The 16 looks like this
Round #       Table       Score
1      2      3      4
1       # 1, 2 vs # 3, 4             # 5, 6 vs # 7, 8         # 9, 10 vs #11, 12       #13, 14 vs #15, 16
2       # 2, 4 vs # 5, 7             # 6, 8 vs # 9, 11              #10, 12 vs #13, 15       #14, 16 vs # 1, 3
3       # 5, 8 vs # 6, 7              # 9, 12 vs #10, 11       #13, 16 vs #14, 15       # 1, 4 vs # 2, 3
4       # 4, 8 vs # 9, 13       #10, 14 vs #11, 15       #12, 16 vs # 1, 5       # 2, 6 vs # 3, 7
5       # 9, 14 vs #10, 13       #11, 16 vs #12, 15       # 1, 6 vs # 2, 5       # 3, 8 vs # 4, 7
6       #10, 16 vs #11, 13       #12, 14 vs # 1, 7       # 2, 8 vs # 3, 5       # 4, 6 vs # 9, 15

These schedules for 4n or 4n+1 players are called Whist Designs and are well known.  Some of them like your 16 player examples are available using the 'schedules' link near the top of this page.   There is an example of the 17 player schedule on the Wiseman website.
