I have a league with two divisions - Tier 1 and Tier 2

This year Tier 1 has 8 teams and Tier 2 has 10 teams.

I have 8 sheets of ice and want no repeats on icing.

Draw is at 7pm and one game will have to be at the late draw. Because of the "unevenness" of the Tiers, we will have to go for 7 weeks and then repeat the schedule.

I hope that covers everything. You are a lifesaver  :)

Sheri

I don't have any software that handles all the issues here, but the schedules below might help you put something together.  Repeating a 7 week schedule for Tier 2 sounds a bad idea to me, as then some pairs of teams would never meet, so I have included the 9 rounds below that you will need to have everyone play together once.  I am not sure how to assign the sheets for the late games.

Tier 1 (A to H)
  S1    S2    S3    S4    S5    S6    S7    S8  Late

(B F) (---) (---) (---) (G H) (---) (C E) (D A) (---)

Tier 2 (A to J)

Yes, you are right...however Tier 2, b/c they are more of a Rec league...well, maybe it will matter to some. I don't know what I'll do yet exactly.

For your question of late draw, there is always a game where one team gets blown out early - that is the sheet the ice maker cleans for the late draw.

Thanks Ian--is there a way I can use the scheduler myself to get the results you got? I cannot tell you how grateful I am!

The subject should say 8 sheets of ice, not 7.

You can try my Windows program which is linked to in reply #5 here.  The Tier 2 schedule is a room square for 10 teams (Quick Schedules menu).  Tier 1 is a singles schedule for 8 teams, 9 venues and 7 rounds, where I crossed out every cell on the grid where the room square had a game.
