We held a round robin tournament of 5 teams, to determine the final four teams in a single elimination playoff. The first tie breaker was head-to-head, and the second was runs scored against. The seedings determine the home teams. The first three teams were
Dodgers 3-1, 24 runs against
Red Sox 3-1, 25 runs against
Phillies 3-1, 31 runs against
Pirates 1-3, 32 runs against
Orioles 0-4, 36 runs against
Each of the top 3 teams had a 2-1 record against the others. The Dodgers get the first seed, but to determine the second, should I revert to head-to-head between the Red Sox and the Phillies (which the Phillies won), or stay with Runs against, which favors the Red Sox? I'm not sure..... Thanks!
