Very nice site and good presentation of the cyclic algorithm. You wanted a reference to the social squares. The math field that you are playing in is combinatorial block designs, and t-designs in particular. Google "Kirkman's schoolgirl problem" to see the early (1850s) math problem that leads to this field.
