I have been trying to work out a Darts spreadsheet where there are 10 rounds but the possibility that there could be upto 50 teams. Where I only have 6 boards to play on per round and I also need somone that is not playing to score on the board.

Is there any algorithym to try and work this out as on the day I can create the teams on computer and print it out but as the competition does not start until Sunday I am unsure on how many teams exactly there are ! ....

would appreciate any help.

Cheers
Cindy

Surely you have far too many teams to be able to play a round robin tournament?  For example with 50 teams and only 60 slots for matches available, each team can only expect to play two or three matches.

I think there is commercial software out there for running knock-out or elimination tournaments, perhaps that might be what you are looking for.
