I'm stuck with trying to accomidate 7 hockey teams in round robin play across 3-4 days; I do not need all teams to play eachother once.  (Point system can be adjusted to accomidate this).

We have a minimum of 3 games guranteed, I would not want to exceed a total of 5 games played.

I think it's hopeless.

It looks like you need to hold a swiss system.  If you hold part of a round robin your best two teams might not ever play each other with a schedule dictated in advance.  A swiss is somewhat like a knockout except no one is kicked out for losing.  After three round you will have one leader if there are no ties.
