Hi Mike,
You could start with the full 13 round schedule from the Excel generator. For example:
r c1 c2 c3 c4 c5 c6 byes
1 (E G) (D B) (F A) (L M) (K I) (H C) J
2 (F E) (A M) (B G) (D H) (J C) (K L) I
3 (J K) (M C) (I H) (B L) (A E) (D F) G
4 (B F) (G H) (M E) (A K) (I L) (J D) C
5 (K H) (B I) (J M) (F C) (D G) (L E) A
6 (H M) (F J) (K B) (E I) (L A) (C G) D
7 (A D) (C E) (G L) (I F) (M K) (B J) H
8 (L C) (J A) (D I) (K G) (F M) (E H) B
9 (I J) (H L) (C K) (M D) (G F) (A B) E
10 (D L) (I G) (A C) (J E) (B H) (F K) M
11 (C I) (K D) (L J) (H A) (E B) (G M) F
12 (G A) (L F) (E D) (C B) (H J) (M I) K
13 (M B) (E K) (H F) (G J) (C D) (I A) L
If only the first 8 rounds of the schedule were played, then the teams with byes coloured blue would all have played exactly 8 games, while the red byes would all have had exactly 7 games. To complete the 8 game schedule it remains to find an additional 4 games from rounds 9 to 13 which include all 8 red byes exactly once. This is relatively easy to find, and I have highlighted one possible choice of the 4 games that you would need to play in a final round to complete the schedule.
Ian.
