We are scheduling our annual beer Olympics and are not sure exactly how many people will show up. We will have either 8 teams, 7 teams, or 6 teams playing 6-9 events (we will add or subtract events as needed to make this work, but have 7 events planned thus far). I’m going to print out the three schedules and use whichever one is appropriate the day of. If there are 7 teams then it’s okay to have a team sit out to make this work.
We already figured out how to do 8 teams at 7 events. Each team will play each event one time and each team one time.
My question is, how can I schedule 7 teams to play each other once or twice at 7 different events? The number of events can be altered to 6-9 events if needed (aka we can add or subtract events to make this work). My second question is the same but for 6 different teams.
