Hey folks,

I am trying to find a spreadsheet for the following TEAM Pickleball DOUBLES, ROUND ROBIN Format.

Team A - has 10 players.
Team B - has 10 players.

I am trying to get this so there are 9 rounds. Everyone on Team A plays 1 game together and at same time, everyone on Team B plays with each other 1 time.

While this is happening, I am hoping to have each player from Team A to have the opportunity to play against Team B at least 1 time (and maybe 2 times if the math requires it).

Can you help me?
Dave

Can you give some more details please.  I don't understand the format of play, so would you give an example of what round 1 might look like.  I am not understanding what you mean by 'doubles' in this context, and the A vs B games are confusing me too.  Thanks.

Ian, Thank you for your response.

Team A = TEAM California
Player 1 - Player 10

TEAM B - TEAM NEW York
Player 1 - Player 10

9 rounds of Pickleball.

Round 1
court 1 - A1 and A2 vs B1 and B2
Court 2 - A3 and A4 vs. B3 and B4
Court 3 - A5 and A6 vs. B5 and B6
Court 4 - A7 and A8 vs. B7 and B8
Court 5 - A9 and A10 vs. B9 and B10

My goal is the following. Every member on team A to play with each other 1 time, and every member of Team B to play with each other 1 time. (I can figure this part out). This is 9 games.

However, I am trying to also have it be that A1 is playing with everyone from the B team 1-2 times, so that each member from team A gets to play against everyone from TEAM B at least 1 time or two times.

Does this make sense?

i can get this so everyone on Team A is playing with each other in the 9 rounds. and I can get everyone on Team B to play with each other.

Now the tricky part is getting Team A to play against each person on Team B at least 1-2 times. That is where I am pulling my hair out!

Any feedback on this? I am hosting this tomorrow. so I was hoping to get a response in time to implement your version vs. mine...

Sorry for the late reply - I went away for 3 days and was not checking the message board.  Actually, I don't know if it is possible to solve the problem with 9 rounds and 5 courts, however I do know a way to do it in 10 rounds as detailed below (5 short rounds with only 4 courts and 5 full rounds on 5 courts).  Perhaps that may be some use next time?

(a6 a7  b10 b3 ) (a4 a9  b7  b6 ) (a3 a10 b8  b5 ) (a5 a8  b9  b4 )
(a8 a9  b2  b5 ) (a7 a10 b1  b6 ) (a1 a6  b8  b9 ) (a2 a5  b7  b10)
(a2 a9  b8  b3 ) (a1 a10 b7  b4 ) (a3 a8  b10 b1 ) (a4 a7  b9  b2 )
(a1 a4  b5  b10) (a2 a3  b6  b9 ) (a5 a10 b2  b3 ) (a6 a9  b1  b4 )
(a4 a5  b8  b1 ) (a2 a7  b5  b4 ) (a1 a8  b6  b3 ) (a3 a6  b7  b2 )
(a3 a9  b5  b7 ) (a6 a8  b3  b9 ) (a5 a7  b4  b10) (a4 a10 b6  b8 ) (a1 a2  b1  b2 )
(a1 a5  b9  b7 ) (a2 a6  b10 b8 ) (a7 a9  b6  b2 ) (a8 a10 b5  b1 ) (a3 a4  b3  b4 )
(a3 a7  b1  b9 ) (a4 a8  b2  b10) (a1 a9  b4  b8 ) (a2 a10 b3  b7 ) (a5 a6  b5  b6 )
(a6 a10 b4  b2 ) (a5 a9  b3  b1 ) (a2 a4  b9  b5 ) (a1 a3  b10 b6 ) (a7 a8  b7  b8 )
(a2 a8  b4  b6 ) (a3 a5  b2  b8 ) (a4 a6  b1  b7 ) (a1 a7  b3  b5 ) (a9 a10 b9  b10)
