Hi Dave,

How many rounds do you want to play?  If you can manage the 35, the you could use a Whist/Bridge schedule, for example see Durango Bill's web page, there you will find the first round of the 9 table schedule, the other 34 rounds are found by keeping player zero the same and cycling the other numbers 1-35 in a loop.

Ian.

Looking for a 10 round format where no person plays with or against another person twice

It's possible to have 11 rounds where no pair play with or against twice:

(0  3  5 22) ( 2  6 26 27) ( 4 12 17 30) ( 9 10 15 19) (18 20 21 24) (13 23 29 32) ( 1 16 28 33) ( 7 14 25 34) ( 8 11 31 35)
(1  4  6 23) ( 3  7 27 28) ( 5 13 18 31) (10  0 16 20) (19 21 11 25) (14 24 30 22) ( 2 17 29 33) ( 8 15 26 34) ( 9 12 32 35)
(2  5  7 24) ( 4  8 28 29) ( 6 14 19 32) ( 0  1 17 21) (20 11 12 26) (15 25 31 23) ( 3 18 30 33) ( 9 16 27 34) (10 13 22 35)
(3  6  8 25) ( 5  9 29 30) ( 7 15 20 22) ( 1  2 18 11) (21 12 13 27) (16 26 32 24) ( 4 19 31 33) (10 17 28 34) ( 0 14 23 35)
(4  7  9 26) ( 6 10 30 31) ( 8 16 21 23) ( 2  3 19 12) (11 13 14 28) (17 27 22 25) ( 5 20 32 33) ( 0 18 29 34) ( 1 15 24 35)
(5  8 10 27) ( 7  0 31 32) ( 9 17 11 24) ( 3  4 20 13) (12 14 15 29) (18 28 23 26) ( 6 21 22 33) ( 1 19 30 34) ( 2 16 25 35)
(6  9  0 28) ( 8  1 32 22) (10 18 12 25) ( 4  5 21 14) (13 15 16 30) (19 29 24 27) ( 7 11 23 33) ( 2 20 31 34) ( 3 17 26 35)
(7 10  1 29) ( 9  2 22 23) ( 0 19 13 26) ( 5  6 11 15) (14 16 17 31) (20 30 25 28) ( 8 12 24 33) ( 3 21 32 34) ( 4 18 27 35)
(8  0  2 30) (10  3 23 24) ( 1 20 14 27) ( 6  7 12 16) (15 17 18 32) (21 31 26 29) ( 9 13 25 33) ( 4 11 22 34) ( 5 19 28 35)
(9  1  3 31) ( 0  4 24 25) ( 2 21 15 28) ( 7  8 13 17) (16 18 19 22) (11 32 27 30) (10 14 26 33) ( 5 12 23 34) ( 6 20 29 35)
(10 2  4 32) ( 1  5 25 26) ( 3 11 16 29) ( 8  9 14 18) (17 19 20 23) (12 22 28 31) ( 0 15 27 33) ( 6 13 24 34) ( 7 21 30 35)

so simply discard one of the 11 rows above.  Note that the 36 players are numbered 0 to 35 and that you are free to assign each set of 4 people to partners and opponents in any way.

Hope that helps,

Ian.
